In effort to make half of its buildings net-zero-energy by 2020, the US Army and Navy will use the virtual energy assessment model pioneered by Retroficiency to conduct 640 energy audits at military buildings in several regions worldwide over the next year. Specifically, Sain Engineering Associates (SEA) will use Retroficiency’s Building Efficiency Intelligence (BEI) software platform which the company expects will cut project time and cost by 80 percent compared with conventional audits. According to Retroficiency CEO, Bennett Fisher, the contract signals that the military "is looking for solutions that can move it beyond the traditional 'one-building, one-measure' approach to building energy efficiency." Read more at Green Tech Media.
