US West Point Academy Seeks Energy Self-Sufficiency

In yet another example of the US military’s energy efficiency efforts, West Point academy is currently seeking public comments on its 346-page draft plan “United States Army Garrison West Point Net Zero Energy Initiative”. The document outlines how the academy could produce, reduce and conserve energy. Plans include harnessing solar power for electricity, heating and hot water and using the Hudson River for cooling requirements. These plans add to a wind turbine and rooftop solar arrays the academy is already using.  Read more at Army Times.
