Friedrich Ebert Stiftung

On Tuesday December 2, 2009 the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung ( organized a luncheon in Washington D.C. on behalf of the Journal of Energy Security (JES).  The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the JES to the Washington policy community and to discuss energy and security issues as they relate to the Transatlantic community.  On the ground, FES staff Emily Peckenham, Program Officer and Congressional Liaison and Knut Panknin, Program Officer, organized an outstanding program of professionals involved with energy security and environmental policy.  Many thanks also go out to Almut Wieland-Karimi, Executive Director of FES-DC, as well for marshalling the intellectual and financial resources of the FES behind this event. Senior US Congressional staff, Washington policy analysts, and European energy and environmental experts all participated in the program.  The staff of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security are again most grateful to have had this opportunity.  We look forward to ongoing involvement with the FES-DC.
